First Croatian Beer with Hemp Plant Extract Hits the Market

The first beer with industrial hemp flower extract has hit the Croatian market.
Daruvar brewery from the Slavonian town of Daruvar presented their latest beer from the 5th Element line – Cannabeer – Green Power – at the Festival of Small Independent Croatian Craft Beer Brewers.
In the intimate setting of Count Janković’s castle in Daruvar there were 36 small independent brewers, and among the 50 different beers presented at the festival, including Green Power.

“The beer, which has extract of hemp flower, has the specific flavour of cannabis, and the attractive greenish colour, imitating the plant’s own colour, and reminds of all the power of green nature. One of the strongest plants,” the brewery said.
The beer is dark greenish in colour and is “light, airy, and refreshing with a pleasant lime aroma”.
With 4.8% alcohol volume the beer has a “mild herbal, citrus-like flavour that resembles a lime.”
The brewery also presented another new 5th Element beer at the festival – Weissberry – a sour beer with raspberries.
