One of Croatia’s most famous football club’s Hajduk Split are currently in the midst of a financial crisis, but there was some good news to their woes on Thursday when the club was handed over a cheque for 40,000 euros.
The payment came from sponsors Carlsberg Croatia, who in July last year signed a deal with the Split club based around one of its new beers on the market named after the famous club.
Carlsberg Croatia released “Hajducko” beer, named after the club, and imediately set about with a marketing campaign called “Kuna for Hajduk”, which meant that for every litre of the new beer which was sold 1 kuna (0.15 euros) would go to the club. On Thursday Carlsberg Croatia presented the club with a cheque for 300,901 kuna (40,000 euros).
