Building inspectors have now assessed homes damaged in the devastating floods that hit eastern Croatia in May, with the government confirming that around 150 homes will have to be completely demolished…
Prime Minister Zoran Milanović and Construction Minister Anka Mrak-Taritaš visited the worst effected areas yesterday to outline plans the government had put in place for the victims of the floods. 666 homes were declared ‘dangerous to live in’ when the floods hit, and after inspections the Ministry confirmed that around 150 would be demolished and built again from scratch. The remaining homes would be restored, starting on 21 July at the government’s expense.
The Ministry says that the new should be nearly complete by the end of the year, with the facades completed next spring.
