2014 a Record Tourist Year for Dubrovnik

Croatia’s most recognisable destination globally has set new tourist records in 2014…
From 1 January – 31 December 2014 the southern Dalmatian city attracted 863,801 tourist arrivals, 12% more than the previous year. Foreign tourists made up 813,363 of the total arrivals, 13% more than the previous year, while local tourists accounted for 50,438 of the total arrivals. Overnight stays, a key measure in the industry, were also up in 2014, growing 9% to 3,121,125,00.
Hotels and private accommodation both experienced growth in 2014. Out of all tourist arrivals to Dubrovnik, 569,471 stayed at hotels, which is 7% more than in the year previous, whilst 190,109 chose to stay at private accommodation – which was a 38% from the year prior. Tourists from the UK made up the largest number of tourists (15% growth from 2013), followed by Germans, French and Americans.
