2020 US Open: Borna Ćorić upsets 4th seed to reach 4th round

NEW YORK, 4 September 2020 – Croatia’s Borna Ćorić (23) has moved into the fourth round of the US Open in New York with an amazing come back after being 5-1 down in the fourth set and saving six match points.
Ćorić, who is the tournament’s 27th seed, has upset the tournament’s 4th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece in a five-set thriller which went late into the night in New York.
After losing the opening set in a tie-break and being 5-1 down in the fourth set, the Croatian would eventually win the match 6-7, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 to claim one his most important Grand Slam wins.
This result equals his best performance at Flushing Meadows. In 2018, Ćorić also reached the fourth round.
Ćorić now meets unseeded Australian Jordan Thompson in the fourth round.

Ćorić now joins Petra Martić in the fourth round. Marin Čilić has a chance to join them when he meets 2nd seed Dominic Thiem, and Donna Vekić will play Tsvetana Pironkova today.
