2022 World Water Polo Championships: Croatia into quarterfinals

HUNGARY, 27 June 2022 – Croatia has beaten Georgia in the Round of 16 of at the 2022 World Water Polo Championships in Hungary on Monday.
Ivica Tucek’s side led from the start when Luka Bukić opened the scoring. They would lead 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, before running away with the win 13-7 (3-2, 4-2, 3-0, 3-3).
Croatia were impressive on defence today, not conceding a goal at all in the third quarter.
The victory means Croatia has advanced through to the quarterfinals.
Croatia finished the group stages unbeaten, drawing with Greece (8-8), before beating Germany (13-9) and Japan (21-13).
Croatia will now face Serbia for a place in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
