Croatia has achieved remarkable tourism results over the past year, particularly in the British market, where over 3.7 million nights were realised.
This year also promises positive trends, as evidenced by numerous media features about Croatia in British publications. One notable mention came from the weekend newspaper, The Sun, which dedicated a special feature to travel.
The article, authored by journalist Emily Fairbairn, highlighted Dubrovnik as a tourist gem. Fairbairn personally explored the Croatian treasure from October 7th to 13th last year. The piece appeared in both the print edition of The Sun and on their online portal, projecting an estimated monthly readership of over 31 million.
This exposure is great promotion for Dubrovnik, portrayed as a city with diverse offerings for every type of visitor. Fairbairn dispelled the myth that Dubrovnik is only accessible to deep-pocketed tourists, portraying it instead as an Adriatic jewel with crystal-clear waters and world-class gastronomy.
The Guardian also joined the chorus of praise for Croatia, featuring a comprehensive article on 24 hidden beaches in southern Europe. Among the selected beaches, four were from Croatia.
Three were from the Zadar region, including Južna Luka on Ugljan, Brbinjšćica Cove on Dugi Otok, and the beaches of the renowned tourist spot Šimuni on Pag.
The fourth beach was in Istria, specifically on the island of Sveta Katarina.
The Guardian highlighted these Croatian beaches alongside others from Greece, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal.
The article is expected to attract an average of over 22 million readers monthly, introducing them to lesser-known but still attractive Croatian destinations and locations.
