ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) – Three hundred firefighters from all over Croatia on Sunday went on a traditional pilgrimage to the Marian shrine of Marija Bistrica to mark the day of their patron saint, St. Florian, which they could not do in early May due to restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Among the pilgrims was also Minister of the Interior Davor Bozinovic, who recalled that during the pandemic between 1,200 and 1,500 firefighters had been involved on a daily basis in the activities of the coronavirus response teams in all counties.
“We are grateful for what they do every day, especially this year because they have been one of the main components of the civil protection system both in coping with the coronavirus crisis and dealing with the consequences of the (March 22) earthquake in Zagreb,” Bozinovic said.

Na Hodočašću vatrogasaca u Svetištu Majke Božje Bistričke. Vatrogasci u svim krizama imaju iznimno važnu i nezamjenjivu ulogu. Svaki njihov angažman izniman je čin humanosti i solidarnosti.
