Croatia flight news: Jet2 cancels Zadar and Pula routes for 2021 summer season

Jet2 cancels zadar pula

ZAGREB, 26 October 2020 – British leisure airline Jet2, who offers scheduled and charter flights from the UK to tourist destinations in Europe, has announced some operational changes for its 2021 summer schedule with some routes to Croatian airports canceled, Croatian Aviation reports.

During this year’s summer flight schedule, Jet2 flew to Pula, Split and Dubrovnik, with significantly fewer flights than last year. After the UK put Croatia on its “red list” at the end of August, the airline canceled all flights to Croatian airports for the rest of 2020.

Last autumn, Jet2 announced the introduction of another destination in Croatia, Zadar Airport, but due to reduced demand caused by COVID-19, the airline decided to launch the new Zadar service in the summer of 2021.

Due to the continuing uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline has now decided not to introduce the new Zadar service in the summer of 2021. Jet2 planned to introduce services to Zadar on the Dalmatian coast from Manchester and London.

Package holiday customers who were due to travel to Zadar will be contacted with the option to rebook their holiday to Split.

Apart from Zadar, the airline will not operate on the London Stansted – Pula route next summer. It is a long-term route that has been operating regularly for many years, but due to the reduced demand that the company anticipates for next summer, Jet2 will not have this route active next summer season.

“We are operating to Split, Pula and Dubrovnik in the summer season 2021. We are completely committed to taking holidaymakers on their well-deserved holidays to beautiful Croatia, and we look forward to taking customers there next year,” read a quote.

Another major carrier that brings many tourists from the UK to Croatia, TUI, is still working on its summer flight schedule for next year. TUI was operating regular flights to Pula and Dubrovnik during the 2019 summer season.
