300 of the best Croatian tamburitza players to perform in live online event

ZAGREB, 12 November – The Croatian Parliament of Culture, the leading representative of cultural and artistic amateurism in Croatia, announces the 27th Meeting of Croatian Tamburitza Orchestras and Ensembles, which will be held online environment on 14 and 15 November, starting at 6 p.m.
The event will include 18 selected tamburitza orchestras and ensembles with about 300 tamburitza players and is co-organised by the Association of Cultural and Artistic Associations of Zagreb County, KUD “Preporod” Dugo Selo and HDS ZAMP.
31 tamburitza orchestras and ensembles from 10 Croatian counties with about 600 performers have applied to participate in the event, from which the selectors Matija Fortuna, Robert Homen and Ivan Potočnik have selected the final participants.
The Tamburitza Orchestra of KUD “Jedinstvo” Split, the Tamburitza Orchestra of KUD “Belica”, KUD “Tamburica” Staro Petrovo Selo, the Karlovac Tamburitza Orchestra, the Tamburitza Orchestra of the Tamburitza Society “Gaj” Zagreb and the Older Tamburitza Orchestra will compete in the category of concert orchestras. orchestra of the Tamburitza Society “Ferdo Livadić” Samobor.
The Folklore Orchestra of HKGD “Dunav” Vukovar, the Tamburitza Orchestra of the Folklore Ensemble “Ethno Siscia” Sisak, the Tamburitza Section of KUD “Klas” Podsused and KUD “Preporod” Dugo Selo will compete in the category of folklore orchestras. The competition in the mentioned categories will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 6 p.m.
On Sunday, November 15, starting at 6 pm, there will be competitive performances by tamburitza ensembles in two categories: concert and folklore ensembles.
The Tamburitza ensemble of KUD “Klaruš” Maruševec, the Tamburitza ensemble of KUD “Mačkovec” and the Tamburitza ensemble of KUD “Sv. Juraj “Draganić, and in the category of folklore tamburitza ensembles: Tamburitza-violin ensemble of the Folklore Ensemble” Koprivnica “, KUU” Dragutin Domjanić “Vugrovec, HKUD” Petar Zrinski “Vrbovec, Tamburitza ensemble of KUD” Klek “and Tamburitza ensemble of the Varaždin Folklore Ensemble.
The mentioned ensembles will compete for bronze, silver, and gold plaques and the Grand Prix. The awards are decided by an expert committee composed of Damir Butković, Ivan Potočnik and Veljko Valentin Škorvaga.
The exclusive sponsor of the 27th meeting “Mario Žmegač Music Ensemble” will award the tambourine brač and bisernica to the most successful orchestra and ensemble, and the representative of the Croatian Society of Composers Ivan Potočnik “Award of the Croatian Society of Composers for the best performance of Croatian composers in the category of concert orchestras.
Another Award for the best performance of a work published by the Croatian Parliament of Culture in the category of concert orchestras can also be awarded.
