Torpedo Production Park incubator opens in Rijeka

ZAGREB, Dec 22 (Hina) – The Torpedo Production Park, a technological-educational and entrepreneurial incubator, was officially opened in Rijeka on Tuesday, providing SMEs with conditions to advance their competencies and innovation potential.
The incubator was opened in the former Torpedo factory and is worth HRK 22.6 million, with HRK 19.3 million being a grant from the European Regional Development Fund and the Porin development agency acting as a project partner.
The centre spreads over 1,557 square meters and was implemented as part of a European project aimed at reconstructing and transforming the former factory into technological, educational and entrepreneurial incubator, the director of the Porin development agency, Dario Zoric, said at the opening.
The centre provides 16 business premises, a technological laboratory equipped with specialised industrial equipment for 3D scanning and printing, and the like.
According to Rijeka Mayor Vojko Obersnel, in the part three years Rijeka city authorities have ensured almost HRK 152 million in European grants for the entrepreneurial infrastructure and these projects are valued at about HRK 221 million.
In the period from 2018 to 2020 more than HRK 2 billion of European money has been ensured for various projects, he said.
