ZAGREB, 22 December 2020 – The suspension of all types of transport from the countries of continental Europe to Great Britain is underway, which also includes postal traffic in dispatch and arrival.
In accordance with the suspension of transport, Croatian Post will not receive shipments intended for sending to Great Britain until further notice, Croatian Post said in a statement on Tuesday.
Since the beginning of December, postal traffic with the UK has been very difficult with frequent delays in both directions. Congestion is affected by large volumes of shipments traveling to Europe and the current pandemic crisis that has affected most postal operators and affected traffic flow.
“We invite users to be informed about the current traffic situation on the Croatian Post website – https://www.posta.hr/stanje-u-medunarodnom-postanskom-prometu/8392 before sending a shipment or online order from abroad. We thank users for their patience and invite them to contact us in case of questions or ambiguities on the phone number: 072 303 304 or contact us via the online form.” Croatian Post said.
Croatia’s authorities decided on Sunday to suspend air traffic with Great Britain following reports on a new coronavirus variant which seems to be more infectious.
Apart from Croatia, France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Italy as well as some more European nations have already begun to apply travel bans with the UK after it reported a more infectious and “out of control” coronavirus variant.
