Dejan Lovren’s stunner to give Croatia a 1-0 lead against France at the Stade de France in the Nations League match in September has been voted by fans as the best Croatia goal in 2020.
The vote to find the goal of the year was held on the official channels of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) on Twitter and Instagram.
Lovren’s strike won whilst Mateo Kovačić’s second goal against Portugal in Split came in second.
Lovren’s gave Croatia the lead against France in the 16th minute when he fired in with his left foot past Hugo Lloris after controlling a corner and beating a French defender.
In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Croatia played only eight games – six in the Nations League and two friendly matches. In these matches, Croatia won two, drew one and had five defeats.
They scored 14 goals and conceded 20.
