Talented 16-year-old Croatian Rocco Žiković signs for Red Bull Salzburg

26 January 2021 – Talented 16-year-old Croatian Rocco Žiković has signed for Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Žiković, who is a central defender who has captained the Croatia U16 team, has signed left NK Istra to join Red Bull Salzburg and signed a contract running until 31 May 2023.
The fee, which has not been disclosed, is believed to be between two and three million euros and is a record in Croatia for a 16-year-old, Sportski novosti reported.

Žiković, who is 1.86m tall, will most likely start playing for the Red Bull Salzburg U18 team.
“I am grateful to Istria for providing me with excellent conditions ,trainings and matches at the highest level, which led me to this step towards a professional football career. The contract with RB Salzburg is one big step for me and I am really looking forward to the new challenges that await me,” said Žiković on the Istria club’s website.
