Milder measures in force across Croatia from today: Gyms reopen, cafes for takeaway, here is the full list 

ZAGREB, 15 February (Hina/CW) – The national COVID response team presented new epidemiological measures for five categories of activities, stressing that all restrictions cannot be lifted at once even though Croatia’s epidemiological curve is pointing downward.

Restrictions have been relaxed as of 15 February with gyms, fitness centres, children’s playrooms, casinos and betting shops now able to open and cafes permitted to sell drinks to go. All caterers can provide deliveries of food, drinks, beverages and sweets to go.

No staying on terraces

People receiving food and beverages from hospitality establishments must not linger on terraces or in front of the provider’s premises or enter inside. People waiting for deliveries need to keep their distance and wear a mask.

Fitness centres and gyms must follow measures 

Fitness centres and gyms need to provide at least 20 square metres per person at one time and the premises must be ventilated and equipment needs to be sanitised between users. Dressing rooms and showers must not be used.

Foreign language schools can open

Foreign language schools are also allowed to open from today and should allow a limited number of attendants per group so that proper distance can be maintained, and masks are mandatory. 

The number of children allowed in a group in playrooms must also be limited so that they have at least 7 square meters of space each. Masks and sanitiser are required too and each child’s temperature should be measured prior to entering.

Casinos must shut at 10 p.m.

Casinos, slot clubs and betting shops can work until 10 p.m. Hospitality sections of casinos and gaming rooms are to remain shut.

Measures similar to those for stores apply to gaming rooms, casinos and betting places depending on the size of the premises. The number of visitors needs to be restricted to ensure at least 7 square metres per person and all the other relevant epidemiological measures apply.

Croatian PM Andrej Plenković said the sale of coffee to go, which bars would be allowed to sell as of the 15th, did not mean the sale of coffee alone.

“It’s a synonym for the opening of completely closed establishments. It means they will be able to sell tea, some other drink or beverage. They will be able to sell what they have on the menu. It’s just that there will be no sitting on terraces. You take it to go and walk.”
