Warmest February day in history in Croatia recorded on Wednesday

ZAGREB, 24 February 2021 – The warmest ever February day on record in Croatia was recorded today in Knin in the Dalmatian Hinterland.
Today, temperatures soared to 25.1 °C in Knin at 2 p.m., the highest ever temperature recorded in February since measurements were kept, the State Met Office confirmed this afternoon.
The old record was 24.7 °C which was recorded in 2008 in Gradište near Županja.
Temperatures also climbed over 20 °C on Wednesday in other Croatian towns including Pazin, Knin, Senj, Crikvenica, Imotski, Metković, Krk, Sinj and Rijeka where a new record was also set.

Temperatures soared to 24.9 °C in Rijeka on Wednesday, the highest ever temperature recorded in February in the city since measurements were kept. Rijeka’s previous warmest day in February was on 22.02.1990 when 21.4 °C was recorded.
The highest ever temperature recorded in Croatia is 42.8°C which was recorded in the town of Ploče on 4 August 1981.
