In cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board, a new art project is being launched, which represents a completely different street exhibition

ZAGREB, 9 March 2021 – Organised by the artistic collective Pimp My Pump, which is behind the summer event Art Park, and the Zagreb Tourist Board, this weekend a new project called Ulični triptih (Street triptych), which in 2021 will enrich the streets of Zagreb with small street art masterpieces will launch.

The project is a unique all-year programme of street exhibitions that will offer a cross-section of the current domestic street art scene. As part of the project, street panels will become a “living” canvas, a street a temporary art studio, and selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work through a unique form  – ”exhibition in change”.

The Ulični triptih exhibition will change in cycles – every three months, three new works of art with the signatures of various Croatian artists will appear on the panels. Also, as an added element of surprise, one of the three locations will be different each time.

The first trio to turn the panels into small works of art this weekend from 12-14 March will be artists Mislav Lešić, Zvonimir Haramija Hans and Boris Bare, who will create art on panels at 42 Radićeva Street, Dolac 1 (at the main steps of the Dolac market) and on Trg bana Jelačića 11, at the Visitor Centre.

“With the idea of diverting thoughts from uncertain reality, earthquakes and all its visible consequences, and with the desire to refresh the city centre with a brush and spray paint, we hope that the new exhibition concept will beautify the view of Zagreb’s streets and brighten everyday life,” said the organisers.

Martina Bienenfeld, director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, explains: “Through our new project Ulični triptih we want to show that brush and spray do not always mean vandalism, but that they can create true visual art in public spaces. We have connected with the most important representatives of the domestic street art scene and every three months new artists will leave their mark by expressing themselves through different styles and forms. Thus, through the Ulični triptih project, we will at certain locations in our city, always a central location for visitors, create a year-round attraction and convey positive messages by arranging the urban environment in a modern way.”
