ZAGREB, 27 April (Hina) – The Zagreb-based IT company Q has developed an app helping a donated kidney find a recipient in an easier and faster way by establishing in advance if a patient will be able to receive a kidney before it is transplanted, Q said on Monday, calling this “a revolution in organ transplantation.”
The app’s aim is to utilise the potential of every donated organ because 15 to 20% in the world are never used due to a lack of tools for their thorough analysis, Q said.
For that reason, Q developed the Accunea Transplant Monitor for the UK company Accunea to help in organ transplantation and increase the number of successful operations.
“The app is still in the concept phase and will soon be tested in one of London’s most prestigious hospitals. It will help nephrologists to follow key biochemical data from a distance and save human lives in time. This is the first such concept for human organs, which is a revolutionary step in healthcare and we are happy to have the opportunity to work on world projects for people’s well-being,” Q CEO Filip Ljubić said.
Last year Q was proclaimed one of the top 20 development companies in the world. In the biotech segment, it cooperates with clients in the UK, Switzerland, Germany and the United States. The company has more than 190 experts and plans to hire another 100 over the next year.
