Any time of year is good time if you want to visit one of Croatia’s most beautiful national parks, but this May, there is an extra reason why it is a good time to visit as the park has just announced discounts on entry tickets.
During the peak season, adult tickets into Plitvice Lakes National Park cost 300 kuna. In May, adult entry tickets are usually 180 kuna. But next month, tickets for adults have been slashed to 80 kuna.
“Experience the beginning of spring magic in the Plitvice Lakes National Park with ticket prices of 80,00 kn for an adult,” the park announced on Tuesday.
Tickets for students have also been discounted in May and are 50 kuna, for 7-18 year olds they will be 35 kuna and kids under 7 are free.
Two-day ticket prices have also been reduced, so adults will pay 120 kuna for a two-day ticket, instead of 450 kuna, and for students the price is 70 kuna instead of 310 kuna, which is the price of a two-day ticket in the peak season in June, July and August.
A two-day ticket for children aged 7-18 is 60 kuna instead of 170 kuna.

With its exceptional natural beauty, Plitvice Lakes has always attracted nature lovers and on 8 April, 1949, it was proclaimed the first national park in Croatia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The national park is world-famous for its lakes arranged in cascades. Sixteen lakes can be seen from the surface and are a result of the confluence of several small rivers and subterranean karst rivers. The lakes are all interconnected and follow the water flow. The protected area extends over 296.85 square kilometres.
