Krka National Park: New Čikola River boat excursion presented

Krka National Park is one of Croatia’s most popular national parks and now they have presented a new boat excursion. 

The new Skradinski buk – Čikola – Skradinski buk boat excursion will let visitors discover the landscape of the most unusual river confluence in Croatia, between the Krka and Čikola Rivers. 

Visitors can now take in nature treasures that until now were only visible from the viewpoints.

The one-hour-long boat excursion departs from the dock for the Krka middle course at Skradinski buk and heads to the Torak Lake spring, and includes sightseeing of Ključica, the best preserved medieval fortress in the park, and Čekinac Cove often called Krnića Lake by the locals, before returning to Skradinski buk. 

The cost of the boat ride is HRK 80 for adults and HRK 55 for children from age 4 to 18 years, with discounts for groups of adults and children. There is also the option of hiring the boat with a guide for private groups. The excursion is exclusively onboard, there are no stops to disembark and view the localities. “A boat ride along the Krka has always attracted many visitors. Since they represent a special attraction for all nature lovers, we have enabled sightseeing by boat through the middle and upper courses by sailing upstream,” stated Nella Slavica, director of the Public Institute of Krka National Park. She added, “Last year, we re-established the historical route from Roški slap downstream, and starting today, visitors will be able to sail through the Čikola River canyon towards Torak Lake, and get to know the fascinating treasure that has been created through the tranquil play of these two rivers, the Krka and the Čikola, over the millennia.”

A brand new boat, named Torak, will be used for the excursion. The boat got its name after Krka National Park held a survey online.
