Croatia won 8 medals in Tokyo

8 August 2021 – Croatia’s last appearance at the Olympic Games in Tokyo ended today with the water polo team beating USA to finish 5th. 

Croatia ended the Games with 8 medals, the second best performance at an Olympics since the nation’s independence. Croatia finished 26th on the medal table.

This Games Croatia had the fewest amount of athletes in its history with 58 (38 men and 20 women) in 15 different sports. 

Croatia won three gold medals in Tokyo, two silver medals and three bronze medals.

Croatia’s best performance at an Olympics was in 2016 in Rio when they won 10 medals, two more than this year in Tokyo. Five years ago they won five gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
