Croatian fans will not be allowed to attend matches away in September

11 August 2021 – No away fans will be allowed at Croatia’s World Cup Qualifiers in September, football’s world and European governing bodies have decided.

FIFA and UEFA have written to national associations saying no away fans will be able to attend the qualifiers, or any friendlies, due to rising COVID-19 cases across Europe.

The letter said that FIFA and UEFA had been closely monitoring the evolution of the pandemic in Europe and due to the’ recent COVID-19 spikes in Europe’ no away fans will be permitted.

Friendly matches taking place in September will also be played without away fans.

The decision means Croatian fans will not be able to attend Croatia’s qualifier against Russia in Moscow on 1 September.

No Croatian fans will be permitted to attend the qualifier against Slovakia three days later in Bratislava. It also means that no Slovenian fans will be able to attend Poljud stadium for the clash against Croatia on 7 September.
