Phenomenal success for Croatia at the Informatics Olympiad

Croatia has excelled at the Central European Olympiad in Informatics 2021 which was held online and hosted by Zagreb

The Croatian team picked seven medals in the competition which ended on Sunday and featured 48 competitors from 11 countries – Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. 

The young Croatian computer scientists won 2 gold, one silver and four bronze medals, which gave Croatia an excellent 2nd place in the overall standings, just behind Poland.

One of the gold medal winners, Dorijan Lendvaj, won the most points in the overall standings and thus became the absolute winner of the competition, the Croatian Informatics Association said.

Croatia was represented at this competition by two teams composed of a total of eight high school students who were selected as they had the the best results at the Croatian Informatics Olympiad.

SILVER – Krešimir Nežmah – Zagreb

BRONZE – Vito Anić, Vlatko Borevković, Fran Babić, Matej Vojvodić – Zagreb

The Croatian team was led by Nikola Dmitrović, prof. advisor, and manager Gabrijel Jambrošić.
