Status Quo In Zagreb, Rijeka and Dubrovnik After Mayoral Elections

It is status quo in the cities of Zagreb, Rijeka and Dubrovnik after yesterday’s Mayoral elections in Croatia.
Milan Bandic (pic above) won his fifth term as the Mayor of the capital Zagreb with a comfortable victory over his closest rival on Sunday. Meanwhile Andro Vlahusic we reelected as Dubrovnik’s Mayor and Vojko Obersnel will remain as the Mayor of the port city of Rijeka for another four years.
One causality came in the Dalmatian city of Split where the controversial Zeljko Kerum was defeated. Ivo Baldasar will now be at the helm of the city. Currently ruling party the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have control over 3 cities in Croatia after the Mayoral elections, with the nation’s strongest opposition party the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) having control of 10 cities.
