ZADAR, 23 October 2021 – World heavyweight boxing champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has arrived in Croatia on Friday.
The 34-year-old Ukrainian, who last month defeated Anthony Joshua in London by unanimous decision to become the new unified heavyweight world champion, touched down at Zadar Airport on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast on Friday.
“The Ukrainian champion landed in Zemunik because of the World Cup of Majorettes, where his daughter Elizabeth is performing this weekend,” Zadarski.hr writes.
The proud father has been posting videos from Zadar on his Instagram stories, and also shared a photo with wife Kateryna from the plane.
The 2021 World Cup of Majorette Sport is being held at Krešimir Ćosić Arena in Zadar on Saturday and Sunday.
Usyk is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles since his victory over Joshua, and the undisputed cruiserweight title from 2018 to 2019.
He is the first cruiserweight champion to hold all four major world titles and is only one of three boxers to have unified the cruiserweight world titles and become a world heavyweight champion, joining Evander Holyfield and David Haye.
