Mayday Mayday Medulin: Fascinating underwater photo exhibition highlights need to protect beautiful Croatian sea

An exhibition of underwater photographs of the association Eko more Medulin was opened under the name “Mayday Mayday Medulin” at the Multimedia Center of the Municipality of Medulin on Friday.
The exhibition was created as part of the project “Noble goal for the Medulin Bay” which was organised by Eko more Medulin with the financial support of the Municipality of Medulin.
The aim of the project is to get to know and promote natural and cultural heritage and raise awareness of the need for their protection. The theme of the exhibition is the beauty, diversity and richness of the Medulin seabed, but also the pollution of the sea, newcomers and endangered species.
Through 42 photographs and 7 authors, representatives of invasive, thermophilic and protected species, fish, crustaceans, gills, polychaetes, mollusks, algae, ribs, mantles, flatworms are shown. The content of the exhibition is complemented by a screening of a short documentary film and an interesting collection of garbage removed from the sea.
“We have one of the most beautiful seas in the world, home to many life forms that a lot of people don’t even know exist. Let us meet these wonderful creatures and do everything in our power to protect and preserve them for future generations,” Eko more Medulin say.
The exhibition remains open until November 29, 2021 and can be viewed at the following times and hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
“Visitors can share their impressions, ideas and suggestions with us through the book of impressions and thus help the association in planning and creating the next activities,” Eko more Medulin concludes.
