Miss India crowned Miss Universe 2021, Croatia misses out on top 16

13 December 2021 – Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu has been crowned Miss Universe 2021 overnight in Israel.
Contestants from 80 countries around the world took part in the 70th edition of the pageant which was held on Sunday in Eilat and hosted by comedian Steve Harvey.
Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira was named the first runner-up, whilst Lalela Mswane of South Africa was the second runner-up.
In her speech, Miss India urged young people to stop comparing themselves to others. “I believed in myself, and that’s why I’m standing here today,” she said.

Miss Croatia, Ora Ivanišević, failed to make the top 16 this departed today for Israel ahead of the Miss Universe pageant. The attractive 185 cm-tall brunette from Dubrovnik, who studies tourism management at RIT Dubrovnik and hopes to one day run her own hotel, wore dresses designed by Dzemila Dilberović and Matija Vuica on the night.
“It is night before the final show, and the biggest feeling I am feeling is pride. I am proud of who I am, of where I come from and who I aspire to be.I am proud of the journey I am about to partake, and the experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.I am proud to walk on that stage tomorrow, and I am proud to be Croatia,” Ora said before the pageant.

The top 16 included representatives from South Africa, Venezuela, Paraguay, America, the Philippines, Aruba, India, Great Britain, Vietnam, Japan, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Panama, Singapore, Colombia and France.
