It’s only been two weeks since the official opening of Advent in Zagreb, impressions are still gathering, smells and tastes, events and offers are just being revealed, glittering photos from various locations have flooded social networks, and there is still more to come.

One of the places that this year managed to profile itself in an interesting and highly visited Advent location in Zagreb is the Park of the Academy of Fine Arts (ALU). Advent at the Academy, as this month-long winter festival is called, brings its dose of uniqueness with concept and program, and locals and tourists confirm this every day with their arrival.

Almost 10,000 visitors have passed through the courtyard of Ilica 85 so far, which is not surprising. ALU Park has all the advantages of staying in a spacious open space, with illuminated trees and plantations, Christmas decorations, domes, sculptures, plateaus and benches.

The academy is conceived as a place you do not want to leave because it offers all the necessary elements for good fun and an outing that will stay in your memory. 

The idea is that visitors to ALU Park have the opportunity to eat and drink exactly what their heart desires at that moment. Eat me, Munchy, Stara preša, Wurst PLAC and Sweet Adventure are in charge of covering everything in the food department – international, national, sweet, salty, hot, cold, crunchy, fatty … while for a varied and wide range of cold drinks and hot beverages. Apoteka, , Klin se klinom Klinčić vino, Drito bar, Unusual Gin Garden and Jamnica are in charge. 

To complete the concept, Advent at the Academy offers a very interesting and completely free concert program from the beginning. After Nipplepeople, Boris Stock, mini-fest Drito from the Academy, Svemirka, pocket palm and marisol, the Academy announces a series of new concerts.

This Friday, December 17, is reserved for 80s sounds with DJ David Hasselhoff and a concert by the cult electro-pop band Denis & Denis. In 20 years of their career, with occasional breaks, they have achieved an enviable number of hits and many awards, and songs such as “Program tvog kompjutora“, “Ja sam lažljiva“, “Soba 23“ ili “Voli me još ovu noć“ have permanently marked one period, reached impressive achievements and enriched Croatian discography.

On Saturday, December 18, Kuku$, a trap trio whose fans make up the concert army and whose interest in their songs and videos is in the millions, arrives on the Academy’s stage-dome. On Tuesday, December 21, the fresh, visually and musically reset Jonathan, one of the most important indie-rock bands of the new generation, comes to the Academy, while the day after, on Wednesday, December 22, Nika Turković brings one pop full of melancholy, seduction and courage one of the most interesting young authors the music scene has produced in recent years.

On Christmas Eve on Friday, December 24, fans of ABBA can enjoy their most famous hits from the ABBA Real Tribute Band. On Christmas, Saturday, December 25, z ++, who are currently probably the biggest Croatian hip-hop / trap stars will play.
