Cole Robinson, a filmmaker from the North East of England, spent five weeks travelling around Croatia and has condensed it into 97 magic seconds in a stunning video.
Cole started his trip with a visit to music festivals in Pula, before heading to the small mountainous village of Korenica. From there he hitchhiked and travelled around Split, Zadar, Hvar and Dubrovnik.
“One thing that stood out more than anything for me was the incredible quantity and beauty of the sunsets I experienced in Croatia. Whether it was from the cable cars of Dubrovnik, to the port of Pula or the steps of the sea organ located in Zadar,” Cole tells us, before adding.
“The kindness of the Croatian people really shone through upon my visit to Plješivica Mountain, near Korenica. I had underestimated the time it would take to climb the mountain and reached the peak just before sunset. This meant that I would have to make my way back down in the pitch black, with no indicators to ensure that I was heading in the right direction. I had also made the silly mistake of allowing my phone to die. Luckily I met a group of men at the top who had driven up in their jeep. After a short conversation, they offered to drive me down, essentially rescuing me from what had turned out to be a pretty sticky situation. So Tomislav, if you’re reading this… thank you!”
Cole makes short films and documentaries centred around travel and the interesting people he meets along the way. In the past, he has have travelled through Europe with no money and no phone, managing to visit 8 countries along the way – including trekking solo at the age of 19 through the Amazon rainforest and following trails leading to Machu Picchu.
