PHOTOS: Snowpark for snowboarders and skiers opens on Sljeme in Zagreb

Snowpark Sljeme was officially opened at the Zagreb ski resort Sljeme, in the fenced area of the Green Ski Trail, this past weekend.
Snowpark is a ski trail intended exclusively for experienced skiers and snowboarders, and the park is equipped with “kickers”, “rails” and “rollers” where tricks and manoeuvres can be performed.
Croatian skiers and snowboarders finally have a place where they can practice neglected sport disciplines in Croatia, such as freeski and snowboard slopestyle, and express their creativity in snow sports.

Thanks to the long-term efforts of Snowboard Club B-Zone under the leadership of Nikolina Mišeta, the park was designed by Matija Pogorilić, with the help of Snowpark employees Ana Mišetić, Iva Komesar, Kristian Gregeta, Emanuel Živković, Hana Zudenigo, David Popović, Tino Stojak and thanks to the support of Sljeme Ski Resort and Medvednica Nature Park, the realised park is available for everyone to use at the ski resort.

The Snowpark project started as a non-profit initiative of the Snowboard Club B-Zone, with hard work and an endless number of meetings, the club managed to get all the permits to run the park on the Green Trail of the Sljeme Ski Resort.

All elements and costs related to the construction of the Snowpark were realised by the club exclusively with the help of donations. The park is designed as a safe and well-maintained area, suitable for performing the first tricks on skis or snowboards, exploring your own skills on the snow, as well as training for international competitions.

It is not necessary to pay an additional fee for the use of the park, but it is necessary to buy a regular ski pass at the box office of the Sljeme Ski Resort.

“The goal of Snowpark is the promotion of skiing and snowboarding sports, with this project we want to raise awareness and modernise skiing and snowboarding in Croatia. Competitions in freeski and snowboard (slopestyle and big air) categories are held all over Europe and all over the world. With this project, we are creating an adequate place to train these disciplines,” the founders said.
