The LADO ensemble held the first concert of the Easter program last night on Easter Monday.
The concert was held in the crowded Church of St. Blaise in Zagreb, and as part of the concert, 14 vocal-instrumental points were premiered in front of the audience. The audience reacted enthusiastically to the songs and rewarded the Ensemble with a big round of applause.
LADO has now started its Easter program, as part of which it is promoting its first Easter-themed album – “Veliko je sad veselje – hrvatske uskrsne pučke popijevke“.
The special feature of this album is that it was created in complex pandemic times, and its quality was recognised by the audience, as well as by the profession, which declared it the best folk album at the 29th Porin Awards.
The success and special emotion of the first concert are the motivation for further performances of the Ensemble, which will perform in Rome on April 22 and 23. Upon their return to Zagreb, LADO will perform at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua on April 27, and the Slavonian tour includes concerts in Novska on April 28 and in Slavonski Brod on April 29.
With this program, LADO continues to fulfil its task of collecting, processing and staging the most beautiful examples of Croatian musical heritage.
