Croat Karlo Matković picked up in NBA draft

Another Croat is headed to the NBA.
The New Orleans Pelicans have selected Croatian center Karlo Matković with the 52nd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday.
“Dreams coming to life,” Matković, who was born in Livno, wrote on social media.
The 21-year-old, who made his debut for Croatia earlier this year against Sweden in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, played for Mega Basket in the ABA League.
Last season he averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 boards after playing 25 games.
Standing at 6-foot-11, the powerful center previously played for Cedevita in the Croatian league.

It is not clear weather the Pelicans will include thee Croat on their roster for the new season.
The Orlando Magic took Paolo Banchero first overall in the NBA draft.
