Rimac Nevera to be first car to cross Pelješac Bridge on opening day

Pelješac Bridge, which connects the southernmost parts of Croatia and the country’s mainland, will open with an official ceremony on 26 July.
The 2.4 kilometre-long bridge, along with 20km of access roads, will open to the public for traffic on July 26 with the official ceremony to be attended by Croatia’s president and prime minister.
According to daily Jutarnji list, the first car to cross the bridge with be the Rimac Nevera, the all-electric, 1914hp, 258mph hypercar manufactured by Rimac Automobili.
The Nevera will start from one side of the bridge, whilst three-time European racing champion Niko Pulić, who is from Dubrovnik, will start in a car from the other side of the bridge. Both cars will pass also through fireworks.

After that, members of the first and fourth guard brigades, 40 of them on motorcycles, will cross the bridge.
A cultural and artistic program will also take place all day at the rest area on the Pelješac side of the bridge, the daily said.
The opening ceremony of the Pelješac Bridge will in Croatian is called Pelješki most, will begin at 8:15 p.m. and will be broadcast live on HRT.
The bridge, worth €550 million, was connected three months ahead of schedule and three years after workers from China Road and Bridge Corporation started work.
