Referendum To Decide Sale Of Hajduk Split To Foreign Investors

The Mayor of Split has told media on Tuesday that any decision to sell Hajduk Split football club to foreign investors will come down to a referendum.
Mayor Ivo Baldasar made the comments after news broke yesterday of the intentions of an American consortium, which included Detroit Lions NFL player Ndamukong Suh, to buy the club. Suh and investors are in Split currently where they have met with city officials.
“According to what our guests from the US presented us, Hajduk Split is their main goal. They want to own the club and they are very serious. Although we understand that they want to do the deal in the shortest time possible, when Hajduk is in question nothing can happen overnight and they are prepared to wait,” said Baldasar after meeting with the consortium in Split.
