There has been a steady rise in female entrepreneurs across the globe, and Croatia is no exception to the trend.
Women in Croatia are establishing their own businesses in a variety of industries, like 25 year old Ana Čalić.
After studying chemistry in Zagreb, Ana obtained her master’s degree in science business and innovation in Amsterdam.
She has worked in her family business Navela, which is a leader in marine and boating equipment, from a young age.
With valuable knowledge of the nautical industry and innovation gained, Ana created the platform Misli More, which educates younger generations about the nautical industry and possibilities of sustainable development in marine.
With her knowledge of the nautical industry and innovation, also formed Croatia’s first club for young professionals in the marine industry within the platform.
“The inspiration behind starting Misli More was because of the lack of young people in the industry. I realised there were not a of young people but it is a really nice niche to work in and there are a lot of opportunities. We live in a country with more than 1,000 islands and we have been in the top 3 destinations for boating and the whole situation is just screaming opportunity and it would be a shame more people didn’t know about it,” Ana told Stanko Zovak on a recent episode of the All Things Croatia podcast.
On the podcast, Ana talks about her passion for the sea and how her new initiative combines Croatian innovation and sustainability.
