VIDEO: Amazing atmosphere in Split as Croatia set to play for water polo gold

In Split’s Spaladium Arena, which was packed to the rafters, the Croatian water polo team advanced through to the final of the European Championship in a dramatic finish against Italy in the semi-final last night.
Croatia’s fanatical fans created an atmosphere that we rarely see anywhere in the water polo world and helped carry the Barracudas to a tense 11:10 victory.
Spaladium Arena is the first arena in Croatia that has hosted a water polo competition, which is an extremely demanding and commendable undertaking. Check out the timelapse video of how the transformation was done below.
On Friday, September 9, 2022, the Croatian women’s team the Barracudas will have the opportunity to play in front of their fans. The women’s finals day starts at 4 pm when Croatia take on France in the battle for 7th place.
After that the match for 5th place will be played between Israel and Hungary. At 7 pm, the bronze medal match between the Netherlands and Italy kicks off, followed but the final between Spain and Greece at 8:30 pm.
Saturday is the final day of the men’s water polo spectacle. Montenegro and Georgia open up at 14:00 with a match for 7th place, followed by a duel between Greece and France for the 5th and starting at 15:30. The bronze medal match between Spain and Italy.
The main event will be the final for the gold medal starting at 8:30 pin between Croatia and Hungary. A very small number of tickets for this spectacle are available for sale at the Spaladium Arena box office until they last.
In Jana Vodeni Grad, on the final day of the European Championship, visitors will be entertained by the group Forum, Zorica Kondža and Alen Nizetic as well as surprise guests.
