The Zagreb scene is becoming richer for Fine stvari (Fine Things), a place where you can find the best whiskeys, rums, gins and other selected drinks by the world’s most famous brands.
Fine stvari open their doors at Cankareva 5, where seductive tastes and smells will take you to France, America, Japan and beyond, revealing the interesting things behind noteworthy brands.
Le Gin, based on organic calvados from apples from the family orchards of the House of Drouin in Normandy, mezcal from the Mexican Derrumbes family that takes us back to the time of tequila before the industrial stage, Compass Box Experimental Grain Whiskey whose aromas meet contrasts: banana and caramel with gentle smoke and hints of rum and raspberry, Mars Tsunuki 2022, an esteemed and extremely rare whiskey of a young Japanese distillery produced in small batches, and the homemade Luftbremzer gin, an homage to the classic London Dry with a subtle signature and a palette of plant-floral notes obtained from eleven organic plants, mostly from local cultivation are some of the world-class products at Fine stvari.
Fine stvari is not only a place to buy premium drinks, but also to socialize and exchange knowledge for all excellent connoisseurs of the world of distillates, as well as those who are just discovering it. So here it will soon be possible to participate in workshops that are designed as informal get-togethers with conversations about the exciting history of certain drinks, typologies and production methods.
On the occasion of the opening on Friday, October 14, from 3 to 8 p.m., visitors can enjoy a tasting of a selection of fine things and get to know the finest gins, whiskeys, and rums along with a few bites, and already this fall, educational programs will also start: on October 20, a gin workshop will be held led by Filip Presečki from Luftbremzer Distillery, and on November 3rd, Scotch whisky talks… under the leadership of Tomislav Ruszkowski. Entrance to the opening of Fine stvari is free for all interested parties, and tickets for the workshops are available on the webshop of Fine Things (finestvari.hr).
“Thematic workshops are for people who want to educate themselves about whiskey, gin and rum. After the launch of the web store, we realized that people want to see the labels live and learn something about how to consume quality products and what to mix them with. A workshop like this can be a nice gift, to yourself or to someone else,” says Zlatko Ivkić, director of Fine stvari.
