Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić says he is happy with his team’s group for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying tournament.
The draw for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying tournament was made in Frankfurt on Sunday and it saw Croatia, who was seeded in Pot 1, drawn in Group D alongside Wales, Armenia, Turkey and Latvia.

Wales
Armenia
Turkey
Latvia
“We can be satisfied with the group we got. We avoided the teams from Pot 2 which we wanted to avoid. We got Turkey from Pot 4 who were probably the most uncomfortable side. We are optimistic as favourites in our group,” Dalić said after the draw, before adding.
“We have Wales who were in our group from qualifying for the last Euro. One problem is the long travel but we have to be prepared well and be ready. We must respect our opponents and not relax in our group and analyse Latvia and Armenia who are lesser known to us.”

Croatia has taken part at six Euros, the only one that they did not qualify for was Euro 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands. Croatia reached the quarter-finals twice (England 1996, Austria and Switzerland 2008), reached the round of 16 twice (Euro 2020, France 2016), and exited after the group stages (Portugal 2004, Poland and Ukraine 2012).
