Zlatko Dalić named world’s 4th best national team coach

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić has been named the 4th best national team coach in the world by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).
After winning the Copa América and the FIFA World Cup 2022, Lionel Scaloni was crowned by IFFHS as the Men’s World Best National Coach 2022.
Didier Deschamps finished in second place after leading France to the World Cup final, followed by Morocco coach Walid Regragui in third place and Dalić, who guided Croatia to not only the bronze medal in Qatar in 2022, but also to the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League.

There were three other Croatians among top in other categories.
Luka Modrić was named the 4th best player in the world, behind Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi who won the award.
Defender Joško Gvardiol finished third in the Best Youth Player (U20) Award. England’s Jude Bellingham took the award with the most points (115), followed by Jamal Musiala (95) from Bayern Munich and the Croatian in third place (55 points).
Meanwhile, Dominik Livaković was named the 4th best goal keeper in the world thanks to his heroics at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Thibaut Courtois took away the award, with Argentina’s World Cup winning keeper Emiliano Martinez in second place and Morocco’s Yassine Bounou third.
The IFFHS World’s Best Player award was founded in 1988. In 1991, FIFA President Sepp Blatter asked IFFHS to let this award to FIFA to become FIFA World Player of the Year. In 2020, IFFHS decided bring the awards back with Robert Lewandowski winning it in 2020 and 2021.
