Explosive Croatian boxer Alen ‘Savage’ Babić will fight for the vacant WBC bridgerweight title in March.

The hard-hitting 32-year-old Croatian confirmed on Tuesday that the WBC has ordered him to fight Lukasz Rozanski for the now-vacant belt on 18 March in Poland.

Babić who has a 12-0 record with 11 KOs, will fight Rozanski, a fighter with a similar record of 14-0 and 13 KOs, in his homeland.

Rozanski, who recently turned 37,  has fought only in Poland through his pro career.

Babić, who recently parted ways with his coach Leonard Pijetraj, has been training in Zagreb. He has built a cult following in the UK, known as the Savage Army, since turning pro in 2019. He fights under promoter Eddie Hearn.

Babic has emerged as a cult favorite on the U.K. boxing circuit since turning pro in 2019. The all-action boxer has hovered around the traditional cruiserweight limit but has made a point to campaign at bridgerweight.

The fight came about when Oscar Rivas gave up his title when he announced his retirement due to a detached retina.

“It has been too long. Give me somebody. Bring me anybody. I miss the lights, I miss everything,” the Croatian said last month when he was  in training camp with Tyson Fury.
