13 February 2023 – Only centimetres now separate the Cetina Bridge in Croatia from being fully connected.
The 216-metre long Cetina Bridge, which is 70 meters above the River Cetina and connects the Komorjak and Omiš tunnels, is one of the most complex infrastructure projects currently going on in Croatia.
Construction, which began back in 2019, has been in full swing over the past few months and now a gap of only around 20 cm now separates the two halves of the bridge.
The bridge will be fully connected in just over 10 days or so.
The works on the bypass road are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The bridge is part of the Stobreč – Dugi Rat – Omiš fast road project which will help alleviate traffic issues on the busy Split-Omiš route during the summer tourist season.
The town of Omiš is located on a narrow belt between the mainland and the mountains, along the mouth of the River Cetina river which makes this an extremely difficulty project.
Latest footage of the bridge was again spectacularly captured by EdoStuff Aviation who published his video this weekend.
