From Croatia to Beverly Hills: Wine from Croatian Women Winemakers Was the Talk of the Pre-Oscar Party

Beverly Hills, California, US – March 10, 2023 – Showcasing wines made by Croatian women winemakers at the pre-Oscar party in Beverly Hills became a perfect opportunity for Ms. Renee Pea, the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Los Angeles, to talk with the guests about Croatian winemaking in general, and in this case particularly about the Croatian women winemakers.

“This event, especially since we are celebrating the Women’s History Month, was a great opportunity to showcase Croatian women winemakers, said Ms. Renee Pea, Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Los Angeles. “We are excited to raise a glass, or two, of Croatian wines like Malvasia, Pušipel or Plavac Mali in one of the best restaurants in the area.”

Move Over Cocktails

The gala took place Thursday, March 9th at the iconic restaurant “Tatel”, where guests enjoyed wines from all four Croatian wine regions.

“It is exciting to see Jasna, Tea, Ana and Gorana’s names intermingled with the names of the movie stars, such as Jennifer Hudson, Marcia Gay Harden & Eva Longoria and others,” said Mirena Bagur, founder of Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc., distributor and wine ambassador for 80+ wine labels of indigenous Croatian wines being shipped to most US states. “Now, that guests are familiar with the quality of Croatian winemaking, we only need to teach them how to pronounce the names of our indigenous varietals,” added Bagur with a smile.

#Croatiastrong Women Supporting Winemakers

Supporting women worldwide and the Croatian winemakers was a team of #Croatiastrong women who have also established careers in their own fields, starting with the diplomat Pea to actor, writer and producer Ella Mische, and Dr. T, founder of Dr. T AntiAging, an integrative medicine and pharmacy doctor. They were all supporting the winemakers by not only tasting the wines, but also talking up the quality of Croatian winemaking among the guests.

Ella Mische, actor, writer, producer, and Dr.T, founder of Dr. T Antiaging integrative medicine, both Croatian born, are proudly sipping Croatian wine at the pre-Oscar party.

Stars at the Party

Dynamita Productions in association with Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment, Tatel & Smirnoff organized the “ILBE gala” for the industry peers to celebrate its films, including films that celebrate women’s role in society around the world.

A general feedback from the guests were that the wine were exceptionally great quality.
