Festival of Lights in Zagreb set to start – what to check out

The fifth edition of the popular Festival of Lights will take place in the Croatian capital Zagreb starting next week.
The Festival of Lights will once again bring impressive audio-visual installations and spectacular light art to the streets, parks, squares and facades of buildings in Zagreb’s Lower and Upper town.
This year, visitors will be able to check out 33 attractions at a total of 28 locations.
Some of the most popular locations this year will again be the Croatian National Theatre, Mimara Museum, and Lotrščak Tower, as well as St. Catherine’s Church and King Tomislav Square.
This year a number of new locations will be illuminated with cutting-edge lighting solutions based on the latest lighting technologies, including Ribnjak Park, Old Vlaška, Kurelčeva Street, and Croatian Nobles Square.
The Festival of Lights will last from March 15 to 19, every day from 6 to 11 p.m., with admission to all attractions free.
The Festival of Lights, supported by the City of Zagreb and organised by the Zagreb Tourist Board, is held to usher in spring, the season that symbolises awakening, growth and renaissance.
