Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones will not get into the octagon this July as previously announced.
Miocic and Jones will now fight at the UFC event in Madison Square Garden, New York later in the year.
Jon Jones is one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time with a career record of 27-1, having suffered his only loss way back in 2009. In his last fight held last month in Las Vegas, Jones convincingly defeated Cyril Gane.
Meanwhile, Miocic (41) had his last fight more than two years ago when he lost to Francis Ngannou. There is speculation amongst journalists that the fight against Jones could be Miocic’s last in his successful career.
“This fight was supposed to take place in July, but we moved it to November. As far as I know, both fighters are happy with the new date,” said UFC President Dana White.
Miocic, who wanted to fight Jones in March, says he is ready to claim him belt again.
“Nothing is going to change, I am going to train my arse off and I am gonna beat him. I am 100 percent ready, no questions.”
Johns was tweeting during last night’s UFC event, hinting he will retire after the fight with the Croatian-American who he agrees is the greatest heavyweight of all time.
How cool would it be to spend my retirement fight dominating the greatest heavyweight of all time, in my home state at Madison Square Garden?

Miocic has the most consecutive title defenses in UFC heavyweight history after defending his title four times against Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos, Francis Ngannou and Daniel Cormier.
