United Airlines is set to resume its seasonal service between New York’s Newark Airport and Dubrovnik later this month.
United Airlines will commence its service this year on May 26, 2023 and will operate four weekly flights to Dubrovnik from New York’s Newark Airport until September 27, 2023.
The airline will use its 214-passenger Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route.
United Airlines returns to Croatia following an impressive performance in 2022 when it handled 28,445 passengers on the route over four months, representing a 64.8% increase from 2021.
Last year, United Airlines faced no competition from Delta Air Lines, which only maintained services between New York’s JFK and Dubrovnik for a single season.
American Airlines, which operated a summer service between Philadelphia and Dubrovnik back in 2019, also do not operate a current service.
“We are delighted to return to Dubrovnik in 2023 and resume nonstop services to the United States. With the return of flights to New York/Newark, our customers in Croatia can take advantage of a direct connection to the US, as well as an unrivalled route network from United’s hub at New York/Newark, offering convenient nonstop connections to over ninety destinations across the Americas,” United Airlines noted.
Meanwhile, Canadian airline, Air Transat, will resume its seasonal service to Zagreb airport from Toronto.
From June 7th, Air Transat will operate a weekly flight between Toronto and Zagreb, with the number of weekly rotations increasing to three in the first two weeks of operation. The service will run until October 8th, with flights departing from Zagreb on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
