Croatia set to boom: Over 480 airline routes this summer

According to information gathered by the Croatian Tourist Board from Croatian airports, Croatia will be connected to over 483 unique airline routes during the summer flight schedule, they said in a statement today.

“Air transport is extremely important in connecting Croatia with the world, especially the southern part of Croatia with emitting markets. The significantly improved transport connectivity of Croatian destinations compared to last year suggests further recovery of air transport and is excellent news ahead of the main summer tourist season. The large number of airlines confirms Croatia’s popularity on the world tourism map and continues to position Croatia as an aviation destination well connected to international airports,” said Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board, adding that if all planned routes are realized, it would represent a double-digit growth rate in the number of air operations compared to the summer flight schedule of 2022.

During the summer flight season, direct connections are planned with 130 cities, which is about ten more than the previous season. The largest number of direct air routes will connect Croatia with Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Looking at the available data and announcements, the highest number of air operations is expected at Split Airport (32%), Zagreb Airport (30%), and Dubrovnik Airport (22%).

During the summer flight season, Croatia is planned to have direct connections with 38 countries, mostly from Europe, while connections to destinations on other continents are expected from the US, Canada, Israel, Qatar, and the UAE markets.
