Croatian football club NK Osijek is preparing for a special ceremonial opening of their new stadium at Pampas.
Osijek is set to host a big club for the special opening, which will likely happen during the international window in September, 24sata says.
Final works are underway on the the stadium, which is named Opus Arena stadium, with the first match likely to be the opening game of the new season when Slaven Belupo comes to Osijek.
The 13,005-seat stadium, which has a hybrid grass pitch, cost approximately 65 million euros. Located at the Pampas site, boxes in the West Stand include, saunas, and jacuzzis, whilst the adjoining camp will have seven heated pitches and entertainment facilities for players.
The club published a photo today on their social media of the first markings of the new pitch.
Croatia will play its first international match at the new Opus Arena stadium against Turkey in October.
The hosting will be formally confirmed after the UEFA stadium inspection is completed and Opus Arena receives UEFA’s permission to host international matches.
