Ex-international stars to play in Croatian cricket tournament

Legendary cricket internationals will star next week in a cricket tournament under the auspices of the Croatian Cricket Federation.
The Croatian Cricket Federation has announced that this year’s Mediterranean Cricket League tournament will be be played in Porto Montenegro.
“This is the first time time we have decided to play the tournament outside of Croatia and promote cricket in Europe in a stunning new location so we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to our good friends in Montenegro for hosting our tournament,” organisers said.
MCL2023 will be run from 10-13 July and feature 5 exciting international teams- the ‘ALLSTARS’ (host team, combined Croatia/Montenegro team with Special guests Australian cricket legend Brad Hogg, former England player Darren Maddy, Pavel Florin (Romanian international cult cricket hero) and Sasa Ilic (former Montenegro national football player).
The team will be lead by Croatian captain Jeff Grzinic.
Tallinn Hippos from Estonia features Estonian cricket legend Tim Heath and special guest player former Australian international player Brett Lee. Lee, who played 76 test matches for his country, was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world.
Brett’s son Preston (under 19 New South Wales player) will be playing in the team. Past MCL Champions Saaremaa Kriketi Klubi (also from Estonia) will be captained by European cricket great Stuart Hook. And all the way from India we have 2 fantastic teams, BSND Sports Club and DHULL Sports Club (India).

The MCL has been held previously in Split, Tučepi and Zagreb in Croatia. One of the MCL ambassadors is former Australian international with Croatian roots Siimon Katich.
