The 14th dm millennium jump will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Zadar’s waterfront, as announced by the organisers at a press conference held in Zadar today.
After a three-year hiatus, the dm millennium jump will continue its long-standing tradition of good fun and community support, with the organisers donating 50 percent of the registration fees. This year, all participants will support the Latica Children’s Kindergarten and their Swimming School for Children with Developmental Disabilities, whose work was discussed at the conference by the kindergarten’s director, Anita Rudić, and swimming coach Nikola Deković.
In addition to the Swimming School, dm millennium jump will also support the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities “Ruka u ruci” from Mali Lošinj.
This year, there will be three main jumps: feet-first jump, a double domino jump, and a ball jump.
Participants will celebrate their return to the largest jump into the sea by forming the message “Together again.” Participants can look forward to a an entertainment program, as well as a team of six dermatologists who will provide free dermatological check-ups as part of dm’s initiative “Protect yourself… and enjoy the sun.”
“We are happy that after two pandemic years and another year of rebuilding, we can once again invite people to Zadar’s waterfront and welcome the dm millennium jump back home. The full-day program will be hosted by Frano Ridjan, and the entertainment will be complemented by jumps, DJs, music, and a grand lunch prepared at the waterfront. We invite all those who haven’t yet experienced the excitement brought by this event to secure their accreditation and have an unforgettable and globally unique experience of the dm millennium jump. See you at the waterfront,” said Neven Stojaković, the founder of the Millennium Jump from the Propela Society.
“On behalf of dm, I want to thank all the past participants of the dm millennium jump and everyone who will join us this year. We are proud to support the Swimming School of the Latica Children’s Kindergarten, which ensures the progress of children in all developmental areas, as well as the work of the ‘Ruka u ruci’ Association. I believe that once again, we will demonstrate why the DM Millennium Jump is a unique event and live up to its status as a trademark of Zadar’s summer,” said Marijan Doutlik, dm’s regional manager.
Over the years, the dm millennium jump has become a unique event that offers thousands of participants a good time while encouraging them to take care of their health and support the community. The first dm millennium jump took place in 2007 when the organisers also established the Swimming School for Children with Developmental Disabilities. Since then, 357 children aged four to seven have participated in the “Hydrotherapy Program and Little Swimming School,” which enables children with developmental disabilities to acquire new skills, strengthen their self-confidence, and improve their socialisation.
All interested individuals can obtain accreditation to participate in the dm millennium jump by paying a registration fee of 5 euros (37.67 Croatian kuna). Accreditation can be obtained from Monday, July 24, between 7 and 11 p.m. at Narodni trg, in front of the City Lodge, and on Kalelarga.
