Croatian motorways ranked among best in the world

Croatian motorways have received a number of prestigious international awards over the years and now it has been named among the best in the world.
Croatia shares 12th place on the World Economic Forum’s global ranking of the best road infrastructures, with an average rating of 5.6, alongside Denmark and Taiwan, Croatan Motorways (Hrvatske Autoceste) said in a statement.
The report released a ranking of the quality of road infrastructure in 141 countries. Singapore was no.1 with the highest average rating of 6.5.
Following the group of countries with a similar average rating, including Croatia, were some highly developed nations such as the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Qatar, and the United States.
Among the neighbouring countries, Slovenia were ranked n 36th position, while Hungary ranked 69th.
In 2018, Croatia, competing among 137 countries, shared the 13th spot with Denmark, Oman, Germany, Spain, Qatar, Sweden, and Luxembourg, with an average rating of 5.5.
Only Croatia and Spain from this group have shown improvement in road infrastructure quality, while the other countries have dropped in the current rankings compared to Croatia.
“The quality of Croatia’s highways is a result of continuous investment in infrastructure through regular and extraordinary maintenance, as well as projects aimed at enhancing traffic safety. Despite the excellent quality of the highways, we are in the midst of the tourist season when traffic is at its peak. We kindly request all users to adjust their driving to road conditions to ensure a safe and pleasant journey to their destinations,” Croatan Motorways said.
